Welcome:

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Paperwork

The receptionist will welcome as soon as you enter the dental clinic. You’ll probably be required to complete some paperwork and details about your insurance and medical history. Giving the dental staff complete information will enable them to customize their treatments to meet your unique needs.

Comprehensive Dental Examination

A dental assistant or hygienist will direct you to the examination room after your paperwork is finished. A thorough dental examination will be performed during your initial appointment to evaluate your oral health. This assessment might consist of –

  • Oral Health History: Dental history, any previous dental operations, and any present health issues or symptoms.
  • X-rays: We will take X-rays to get a complete picture of your oral health.
  • Visual Inspection: We will examine your teeth, gums, tongue, and other oral tissues to look for any abnormalities or indicators of decay, gum disease, or oral cancer.

Professional Dental Cleaning

A dental hygienist will preform a dental cleaning. Depending on the amount of plaque and tartar on your teeth, your dentist will perform one of the following four types of dental cleanings:

1. Prophylaxis Dental Cleaning

2. Scaling and Root Planning Cleaning

3. Periodontal Maintenance Cleaning

4. Gross Debridement Cleaning

Treatment Recommendations

We will go over any current dental problems or possible concerns based on the examination and X-ray results. The dentist will explain the best course of action for your dental health and offer suitable treatments if cavities, gum disease, or other issues.

Concerns and Questions

Your first dental visit is a great chance to talk about any dental phobias or questions you may have. If you have any concerns about your dental health, recommended treatments, or any other dental procedures, please don’t hesitate to inquire. A good dentist will spend the necessary time answering your questions and offering assurance.

Future Appointment Scheduling

The receptionist will assist you in making appointments for your subsequent checkup and any suggested follow-up procedures before you leave the dental facility.
